We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Assistant to support students with special needs in our inclusive and dynamic educational environment. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support, instruction, and care to students with diverse abilities, helping them to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide instructional support to students in large groups, small groups, and one-on-one situations, adapting classroom work to meet individual needs
Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, developing students' daily living and behavioral skills, and providing special health care needs
Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, monitoring individual students, classroom, and playground activities
Perform record-keeping and basic clerical functions, scheduling, copying, and maintaining student files and records
Develop materials for student IEP implementation, use progress monitoring tools, and collect student performance data
Requirements:
Completed associate's degree or higher, or completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (72 college quarter hours or more)
Prior job-related experience, paid or volunteer, with school-age children
Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance and First Aid/CPR card and Bloodborne Pathogen training
Knowledge of principles of child development, instructional practices, and basic clerical functions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and families from diverse backgrounds
