We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Specialist II, Revenue Accounting to join our team at American Airlines. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will play a crucial role in performing essential accounting functions within our Revenue Accounting department. Key Responsibilities:
Perform fundamental accounting functions, including reviewing accounting data, processing refund claims, and updating journal vouchers
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner, including communication with external contacts as necessary
Complete data entry of accounting information with high accuracy and attention to detail
Modify and review daily passenger ticket and ancillary refund requests
Distribute and store month-end closing statistics reports
Perform various tasks and ad-hoc activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor/manager to support the department's/organization's achievement of goals and business objectives
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalency required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field preferred
Aircraft/travel industry accounting experience is an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of general accounting principles and systems
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Intelligent and analytical ability to reason and problem-solve
