About the Role: Financial Analyst – Planning & Analysis
We're currently seeking a talented and motivated Financial Analyst to join our Global Merchant & Network Services (GM&NS) Estimating team. This is a unique opportunity to work with the single largest source of arenaflex's revenue: Merchant Discount Income. Our team works closely with numerous colleagues to determine optimal pricing that enables merchant recognition of arenaflex while striving to improve coverage and merchant satisfaction.
Ultimately, we drive GM&NS revenue and profit growth through client-driven pricing standards, more flexible pricing architecture, and innovative pricing solutions. As the Financial Analyst of Planning and Analysis for Canada, you will be responsible for the determination and reporting of merchant discount revenue. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to influence multiple businesses and segments by aligning the organization's objective for profitable charge volume and merchant growth—essential for the strength of our business.
What You'll Do
As a key member of our finance team, you will:
Forecast Canada merchant discount revenue and track monthly performance against forecast while identifying drivers of variance
Create merchant discount revenue scorecards for the Canada region, providing actionable insights to stakeholders
Drive standardization and process improvement among the various regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting-related activities
Support external audits including investigating issues found, reaching out to regional pricing teams that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and overseeing resolutions
Perform ad hoc data analysis to evaluate discount rate trends and uncover valuable business insights
Collaborate cross-functionally with pricing teams, merchant services, finance partners, and executive leadership
Develop complex financial models that provide value-added insights from large volumes of financial data
What We're Looking For
We seeking a candidate who brings:
2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other finance-related roles
Bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred in Finance, Accounting, or Business
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required—must be comfortable with complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling
Knowledge of programming languages such as SAS/SQL is required for data extraction and analysis
Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
Strong analytical aptitude; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and derive value-added insights from large datasets
Excellent interpersonal skills—both written and oral communication
Strong relationship management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be differing objectives
Strong work ethic with an intense will-to-win and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment that places a special emphasis on driving results
Innovative thinker who will challenge traditional approaches to doing things and develop new approaches to old challenges
Strong project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to execution
Passionate focus on the customer; demonstrated desire to understand and address customer needs and pain points
Proven ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize accordingly
