About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Data Entry Clerk/Excel Professional to join our team on a remote basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for accurately entering data into our computer systems, verifying data from scanned documents, and making corrections as required. Your attention to detail, ability to work independently, and excellent comparison skills will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our data.

Key Responsibilities:

Enter data using a standard keyboard with high accuracy and speed
Verify data from scanned documents into one of two processing systems, checking for accuracy and making corrections as required
Work independently with accuracy, completing assigned tasks within strict deadlines
Utilize computer programs and software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, for data entry, report production, and document creation
Alpha-numeric key a minimum of 45 words per minute with no errors (verified through a typing test)


Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

Essential Qualifications:

Experience entering data into a computer system
Experience entering or verifying confidential or Personal Identifiable Information (PII), such as tax records, medical records, name, address, social security number, telephone number, email address, etc.
Experience utilizing computer programs and software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, for data entry, report production, and document creation


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or formal training in document capture/processing software, such as IBM Intelligent Forms Processing (IFP), Kofax Capture, OnBase, etc.


Skills and Competencies:
To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies:


Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and speed
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent comparison skills and ability to verify data
Ability to sit for an extended period of time, reviewing and keying onscreen data
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Alpha-numeric keying speed of at least 45 words per minute with no errors

Salary Information:
The starting pay for this Data Entry Clerk/Excel Professional role is $17.51 hourly ($36,421 annually), plus excellent benefits. Current state employees pay will be based on the provisions in the Compensation Plan. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

The Department of Revenue will conduct criminal background, tax compliance checks, and fingerprint checks on candidates prior to offer of hire. Interview results may be reused in accordance with the State of WI interview reuse policy. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
