About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Graduate or Junior Java Developer to join our client’s dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a Java microservices-based platform that delivers innovative applications to clients worldwide. You will primarily work with Java, but there will also be opportunities to utilize C#, TypeScript, and React for front-end development, all built on a Kubernetes environment. This position offers a unique chance to grow your technical expertise within a forward-thinking organization that values innovation, collaboration, and professional development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Java programming, complemented by a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of a 2:1 classification or higher. A solid academic background combined with a passion for software development is essential. While prior commercial experience is desirable, recent graduates with relevant project work or internships are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Kubernetes, C#, TypeScript, and front-end frameworks will be advantageous, along with experience within the financial sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain Java microservices in a cloud-based environment, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers to deliver seamless software solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and adhere to best coding practices.
  • Assist in designing and implementing new features based on client requirements and industry standards.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and resolving software defects to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate new technologies to improve development processes.
  • Support the deployment and monitoring of applications within Kubernetes environments.
  • Contribute to documentation and technical specifications to facilitate team knowledge sharing.

Benefits

The company offers a competitive salary range of £35,000 to £50,000, commensurate with experience, along with a discretionary bonus. Employees benefit from a flexible hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days working remotely, promoting work‑life balance. The organization fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment, providing opportunities for professional development and career progression. Additional benefits may include healthcare options, pension contributions, and access to ongoing training and certification programs to support your growth within the company.
