Japanese–English Business Consultant & Executive Interpreter (U.S.–Japan Real Estate / CEO Communication) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Japanese–English business consultant and executive interpreter to assist with sensitive, high-level communication with a Japanese parent company and its CEO regarding a U.S. real estate asset. This role goes beyond simple translation. We need a professional who understands Japanese corporate culture, executive communication, and cross-border business dynamics, and who can help accurately and diplomatically convey serious operational and reputational concerns. Scope of Work - Act as a business consultant and interpreter for communications with a Japanese corporation and senior leadership - Assist with verbal interpretation (Zoom / phone meetings) and written business correspondence - Advise on cultural nuance, tone, and executive-level messaging - Help prepare a clear, professional explanation of events and concerns - Ensure communication is appropriate for CEO / board-level audiences - Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Required Qualifications - Native or near-native Japanese and English - Proven experience working with Japanese corporations and U.S. businesses - Prior experience communicating with executives, directors, or CEOs - Strong understanding of Japanese business etiquette and hierarchy - Background in real estate, asset management, finance, or corporate consulting is a strong plus - Comfortable acting as both interpreter and strategic liaison - Professional, discreet, and detail-oriented Nice to Have - Experience with foreign-owned U.S. real estate - Experience handling sensitive disputes or escalation matters - Based in Japan, New York, or U.S./Japan hybrid (open to remote) Engagement Details Hourly or short-term contract (initial engagement with potential extension) Estimated estimated need: 3-5 hours initially Meetings may be scheduled across U.S. and Japan time zones How to Apply Please include: - A brief summary of your relevant experience Examples of work with Japanese executives or corporations - Confirmation of comfort with executive-level communication - Your hourly rate - Any experience with real estate, asset management, or cross-border disputes Apply tot his job
