IT Contract Specialist

Job Title: IT Contract Specialist Location: Rochester Hills, MI 48309 (REMOTE) Duration: 6+ months of Contract, possible extension Shift: Work shift – (Monday – Friday) Schedule: Remote position, with occasional on-site meetings. Job Summary: Required Experience: • 2-3 years of experience with contract review and negotiation. • Knowledge of medical and technical acronyms. Preferred Experience: • 5 years of contracts experience. • Experience with IT contracts. General Summary: • The IT Contracts Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, negotiation, renewal, maintenance, and compliance of IT contracts. • This includes ensuring alignment with established standard terms, conditions, and templates. • Working closely with the IT Contracts Manager, business stakeholders, IT leaders, and Legal counsel, the role involves managing contract execution, assessing performance, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and supporting service level agreements and contract administration. • The IT Contracts Specialist ensures that all IT contracting and procurement activities align with Client policy. • As a senior member of the specialist group, the Specialist provides guidance to Contract Specialists and Junior Contract Specialists on departmental policies and procedures. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Support the development and maintenance of IT contracts, ensuring consistent management throughout their lifecycle. • Monitor and track upcoming contract actions and deadlines. • Assist in the analysis and development of strategies for IT contract negotiations. • Collaborate with various departments and IT leaders in the contract development process. • Develop standards for IT contracts, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and language specific to IT products and services. • Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of IT contract text and attachments. • Maintain deadlines for deliverables and communicate regularly with business partners and internal stakeholders about contractual issues. • Provide monthly and annual reports on IT contractual activity and other metrics to the IT Contracts Manager and leadership team. • Offer advice and interpretation on IT contract requirements, obligations, and risks to IT leaders. • Apply sound business reasoning to align IT contract terms with IT and business needs. • Review, analyze, and negotiate IT contracts to ensure compliance with corporate policies and project requirements. • Negotiate directly with suppliers during the preparation, evaluation, and execution of IT contracts, often as the primary IT contact for the organization. • Participate in audits of IT contracts. • Work with Legal counsel to determine the most appropriate contract types to minimize company risk exposure. • Identify and recommend process improvements for IT contracting. • Maintain effective relationships with peers, stakeholders, and suppliers. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
