Job Title: IT Business Process Optimization Consultant (1-Year Engagement)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Business Process Optimization Consultant to support a strategic initiative aimed at codifying, automating, and optimizing IT business processes across multiple business units within the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command (MSC). This position will play a key role in implementing a Visual Program Office (VPO) to drive this effort, following a successful proof-of-concept in the Maritime Network Operations Centers (MNOC) unit.

Key Responsibilities

Partner closely with stakeholders across MSC to document current-state processes, procedures, SOPs, and tasks.

Analyze existing optimization efforts and ensure they are formalized using a consistent methodology.

Identify, document, and prioritize future automation and optimization initiatives.

Develop a scalable, systemic framework to roll out process automation across additional business units.

Support the design and implementation of IT solutions, particularly within software, systems architecture, and operations.

Coordinate lines of effort within the Visual Program Office (VPO), ensuring alignment across stakeholders and business units.

Provide regular updates, strategic insight, and process improvement recommendations to leadership.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience optimizing and automating IT business processes.

Strong skills in process mapping, business analysis, and digital transformation.

Proven ability to assess and formalize IT operational workflows.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong documentation and strategic planning capabilities.

Highly Preferred Experience

Prior experience working in or with Navy or Military Sealift Command (MSC) IT environments.

Familiarity with Navy IT operations, enterprise software, systems architecture, and sustainment.

Understanding of government or defense-related project delivery.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, one-year engagement with potential travel depending on client needs.
