IP Trademark Assistant (Los Angeles)
About the position
HERS Advisors has partnered with a growing full-service law firm in Downtown Los Angeles, California (hybrid) who has an immediate need for an IP Trademark Assistant to support Attorneys in the IP Trademark and Commercial Litigation practice groups. This is a unique opportunity for someone with IP Trademark experience to get trained on basic litigation tasks!
Responsibilities
ā¢ Open, maintain and close client files.
ā¢ Organize and maintain filing and retrieval systems.
ā¢ Assist in the preparation and filing of regulatory documents and compliance reports.
ā¢ Manage calendars, organize and schedule external and internal meetings, teleconferences, networking events, etc.
ā¢ Handle extensive client contact, both via phone, email, and in-person.
ā¢ Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and redline comparisons for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, syntax, and content.
ā¢ Maintain attorney credit card reconciliations, time entry, and other internal procedures.
ā¢ Assist with special projects and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Requirements
ā¢ 3+ years of legal IP trademark experience.
ā¢ Proactive work style and analytical skills: able to read, research, review, verify and route correspondence, reports, and legal documents.
ā¢ Strong production skills with ability to produce accurate work product when transcribing tapes, formatting documents, inputting data, editing, copying, scanning and transmitting text, data and graphics.
ā¢ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Internet research skills, document management systems, and attorney time entry software.
Nice-to-haves
ā¢ Prior experience with preparing and filing trademark applications
ā¢ managing trademark portfolios
ā¢ experience with retention contracts
ā¢ creating exhibit binders
ā¢ case file management preferred.
