About the position Responsibilities • Build, iterate, and enhance the Starbucks iOS application • Champion accessibility • Lead the ongoing improvement of architecture and code reviews • Optimize existing code for maintainability and testability • Improve app quality with the development of unit and automated UI tests • Mature, evolve and lead team testing practice and philosophy • Lead vision/strategy and patterns/practices exercises with the team • Mentor for other partners / lead by example • Take active role in interviewing and helping to grow the team • Advise on and help shape technical requirements on various initiatives • Thrive in ambiguity, balancing multiple priorities, contexts and fluid requirements in support of shared goals for the team, organization, and business. Requirements • Extensive software engineering experience and expertise with the iOS platform and Apple ecosystem • 6+ years of professional experience developing consumer-facing iOS mobile applications • 7+ years of software development experience • Experience leading engineering teams and setting team standards and practices, particularly around engineering fundamentals, architecture patterns, testing methodologies, and quality. • Experience mentoring others and fostering an environment of support and shared growth • Advanced proficiency with multiple common modern mobile architectural patterns (VIPER, MVVM, MVP) and reactive programming • Extensive experience in integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, push notifications and multi-threaded applications • Knowledge of accessibility standards: WCAG, Section 508. • Familiarity using Apple's accessibility features (Voiceover, Switch Control) • Experience with Core Location services • Extensive experience writing integration and unit tests, including UI automation and dependency mocking • Strong Git experience • Experience with XCode profiling tools to identify and improve app performance • Passion for creating accessible (a11y) products that everyone can use.
