Interpreter Dispatcher and Scheduler

Remote Full-time
At Pure Language Services, we believe communication matters, especially in healthcare. Our team helps bridge language barriers by coordinating professional interpreters for healthcare appointments across Lexington and beyond.

We’re currently looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Interpreter Dispatcher and Scheduler to join our administrative team in a part-time, remote role supporting healthcare interpreting services. This role is best suited for someone who is dependable, communicative, and comfortable making quick, thoughtful decisions in a fast-moving environment.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys problem-solving, communicates well with others, and can think quickly and professionally when plans change.

While this role is remote, applicants must be local to the Lexington area. Familiarity with local roads, healthcare locations, and traffic patterns is an important part of making quick logistical decisions for time-sensitive interpreter assignments. Local training and collaboration with team members are also an important part of onboarding and success in the role.

Schedule Requirements

Applicants must have consistent availability for the following shifts:
• Wednesdays: 11:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Fridays: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Rotating weekend on-call coverage: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Additional scheduling flexibility to occasionally assist with coverage during vacations or team absences is a plus.

What You’ll Do

As part of our Dispatch team, you’ll help ensure interpreters and healthcare providers stay connected and appointments run smoothly. Responsibilities include:
• Coordinating same-day and urgent interpreter coverage
• Managing appointment changes, cancellations, and last-minute requests
• Communicating with interpreters, healthcare clients, and internal team members via phone, email, messaging, and chat platforms
• Making quick logistical decisions regarding travel time, appointment coverage, and scheduling conflicts
• Monitoring schedules and troubleshooting gaps or urgent needs
• Collaborating closely with schedulers, assigners, and other administrative staff
• Providing calm, professional support during time-sensitive situations

What We’re Looking For

The right person for this role is:
• Highly reliable and dependable
• Local to the Lexington area, with familiarity of the region and traffic patterns
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Tech-savvy and able to learn systems quickly
• A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with others
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities
• Calm under pressure and comfortable making quick decisions
• Open to feedback and committed to consistent communication with teammates
• Professional, kind, and solutions-focused

Qualifications

Required:
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable attendance and consistent availability for required shifts
• Comfort using multiple technology platforms and learning new systems quickly

Preferred (but not required):
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare-related field
• Experience in scheduling, dispatching, logistics coordination, or fast-paced administrative environments

Technology & Tools

This role regularly uses tools such as:
• Google Workspace
• Slack
• WhatsApp
• Grasshopper phone system
• Company-provided iPhone

A Good Fit for This Role

You’ll likely enjoy this position if you like solving puzzles, coordinating moving pieces, helping people, and staying busy. No two days are exactly alike, and flexibility, communication, and strong judgment are essential.

This role may not be the best fit for someone who prefers a highly predictable workday, dislikes frequent communication, or struggles with rapid task-switching.

Why Pure Language Services?

At Pure Language Services, we care deeply about the work we do and the people we work with. Our administrative team is collaborative, supportive, and mission-driven. We value professionalism, flexibility, communication, and the critical role our staff plays in supporting language access in healthcare.
