About the Internship:
ERG's rolling internship program is designed to accommodate undergraduate and graduate students, offering flexibility while providing real-world experience. Our team values collaboration and leadership, ensuring that interns receive guidance and exposure to meaningful projects that make an impact.

Internship Focus Areas

Environmental Sciences Internship
Interns in this area will gain experience in environmental compliance, fieldwork, and analysis related to environmental regulations and sustainability practices. Activities may include:
• Conducting field sampling and monitoring of air, water, and soil quality.
• Assisting with environmental impact assessments and mitigation planning.
• Supporting remediation projects for contaminated sites.
• Learning about state and federal environmental regulations.
• Assisting in GIS mapping and data analysis for environmental reports.
• Engaging in ecological restoration and conservation projects.

Cultural Resources Internship
This internship focuses on the preservation and management of cultural and historical sites. Interns will work closely with archaeologists, historians, and preservationists to support research and compliance efforts. Responsibilities may include:
• Conducting archival research and historical documentation.
• Participating in archaeological fieldwork such as site surveys and excavations.
• Assisting with artifact analysis, cataloging, and preservation.
• Supporting National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) compliance efforts.
• Preparing cultural resource management reports and documentation.
• Using GIS and other mapping technologies to document cultural sites.

Natural Resources Internship
This internship is ideal for students interested in wildlife, conservation, and resource management. Interns will gain hands-on experience with natural resource assessments and sustainability initiatives. Key tasks may include:
• Conducting habitat assessments and biodiversity surveys.
• Assisting with wildlife monitoring and data collection.
• Supporting conservation and restoration projects in wetlands, forests, and other ecosystems.
• Analyzing natural resource management plans and policies.
• Collecting and analyzing water, soil, and vegetation samples.
• Working with GIS mapping and remote sensing technologies.

What You Bring:
• Academic background in Environmental Science, Cultural Resource Management, Natural Resource Management, Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience through classroom projects, laboratory work, field school, or prior internships.
• A passion for environmental and cultural preservation.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Compensation & Application Process
• Undergraduate interns: $15/hour
• Graduate interns: $20/hour
