Intellectual Property Analyst (IP OFCR 2)

About the position Responsibilities • Provide analytical support for identifying, fostering, protecting, and commercializing innovations. • Manage a complex portfolio of intellectual property assets and licensing agreements. • Draft and review IP agreements to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. • Assist in evaluating the technological and commercial value of new invention disclosures. • Engage with researchers and external partners to facilitate communication and collaboration. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience. • Experience analyzing, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and interpreting high-level analytical assignments. • Knowledge of IP laws and terminology, including patent and contract law. • Experience managing and processing contracts with discretion and integrity. • Proficiency in software such as Project and Document Management platforms, MS Office Suite, and Internet access software. • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively advise and counsel clients. Nice-to-haves • Advanced degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience. • Experience with copyright law and related terminology. • Knowledge of UC policies regarding research and intellectual property.
