Job Description
As an Insurance Eligibility Specialist, you will:
Ā Verify insurance eligibility for scheduled appointments.
Ā Track and maintain insurance referrals to ensure continuity of care.
Ā Answer patient inquiries regarding their account balances.
Ā Process payments on behalf of patients.
Ā Verify benefits and coverage for services.
Ā Resolve billing inconsistencies and errors.
Ā Provide pricing to self-pay patients.
Ā Maintain confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Ā Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Ā High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ā Previous experience in medical billing/collections required.
Ā Must possess knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (also known as EOBs, remittances, etc.) with an understanding of copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and denial codes.
Ā Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Ā Proficient customer service skills.
Ā The ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Ā Working knowledge of MS Office.
