Inpatient Psychiatrist – Night Coverage (Illinois License Required) | Telemedicine
Remote | 12-Hour Night Shift | Inpatient Consults | 1099 Contract Alina Telehealth is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist with an active Illinois medical license and DEA to provide after-hours inpatient telepsychiatry coverage for ER and floor consults. This is a fully remote role offering schedule flexibility, clinical autonomy, and full malpractice (including tail) coverage. Position Highlights • Fully remote telepsychiatry • Single-provider night coverage (5 PM–5 AM CST) • Inpatient + ER consults • Predictable call flow • Supportive credentialing and administrative team • Malpractice + tail fully covered Schedule Shift: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM CST Days: Monday through Sunday (provider may choose preferred days) Commitment: 10–12 shifts per month preferred Flexibility: You choose which nights you want to cover Role Overview The psychiatrist will manage: • Emergency Department psychiatric evaluations • Inpatient floor consults • Admission orders when appropriate • Occasional Eating Disorder (ED) assessments • Social worker will call to review case prior to admission decision Response-Time Requirements • ER consults: within 45 minutes • Floor consults: within 4 hours Patient Volume • Average per shift: 5–6 patients • Mix of adult psych consults, follow-ups, and ER evaluations Requirements • Active Illinois medical license • Active Illinois DEA license • BC/BE Psychiatrist • Experience with ER or inpatient psychiatric consults preferred • Comfortable with remote admissions and ED evaluations EMR Systems (varies by facility) • Epic • Meditech • Cerner (Training provided) Why Join Alina Telehealth? • Fully remote night-shift telepsychiatry • Flexible scheduling — choose your nights • Full malpractice + tail coverage • Administrative and credentialing support • Opportunity to work with a growing telehealth team About Us At Alina Telehealth, we are committed to setting the standard for telepsychiatry and providing evidence-based behavioral health services.
