POSITION SUMMARY Inpatient Coder POSITION DUTIES · Code and abstract clinical and demographic data for inpatient admissions using standardized coding regulations/guidelines, abstracting rules, and Fairview guidelines. · Utilizes technical coding principals and/or MS-DRG/APR-DRG reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10 PCS codes. · Knowledge of relationship of disease management, medications and ancillary test results on diagnoses assigned. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience: Minimum of 3 years • Education: Certificate program in coding or Associate degree in HIM • Certification: • One of the following: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Must have Optum experience; ability to float to other areas when the case load slows down is preferred; LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT 26 weeks SHIFT / HOURS PER WEEK 40 hours; encompasses the weekend as they have a current backlog Schedule is Tuesday-Saturday SYSTEMS • EPIC, Optum Enterprise CAC • They also use Iodine “Interact” for queries START DATE ASAP Apply tot his job
