Job Description Opportunity at a Glance We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course by course basis. Course of instruction may include: NR583NP - Informatics for Advanced Nursing Practice - This course explores the application of healthcare informatics to advanced nursing practice. Examination of concepts surrounding technologies, emerging trends, and ethical and legal considerations involved in healthcare delivery and information management will enable the learner to advance healthcare outcomes and equity across diverse healthcare settings. Responsibilities • Provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives. • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning. • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students. • Completes and performs other duties as assigned. • Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications • MSN and DNP (or MSN and PhD in nursing) degrees are required • A minimum of 1-2 years online teaching experience at the graduate level is required • Must have an active unencumbered compact RN nursing license (multi-state) • Online teaching experience - highly preferred • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction • Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment • Must obtain Illinois nursing license (if not already obtained) prior to teaching Additional Information Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online: In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
