About the position The Industrial Designer will conceptualize and develop innovative products for outdoor, home, and appliance brands, focusing on enhancing customer experiences. This fully remote role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and involves all aspects of industrial design, from initial concept to final implementation. Responsibilities • Conceptualize and develop new products having a higher than average level of difficulty and complexity • Convert broader consumer insights into innovative design solutions across various media • Execute research methodologies that require direct contact with consumers through qualitative research including home visits, ethnographies, and focus groups • Work closely with Engineering to develop product specifications and validate prototypes • Accountable for the successful design implementation of a major product from concept to completion Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field • 5+ years of experience in industrial design, preferably with outdoor or home appliance brands • Ability to travel at least once per quarter • Strong capability in drawing, rendering, form development, color and materials theory, mechanical engineering, and model building • Demonstrates ability to explain and persuade business partners on the appropriateness of a design solution via effective visual communications technique • Working understanding of all basic shop tools and materials • Understands the importance of identifying engineering constraints early in the design development phases • Capable of developing CAID models and has a working knowledge of Creo and Adobe Creative Suite • Knowledge of tooling constraints and associated design limitations • Basic experience building various levels of concept models from paper and foam to hi-resurface models • Capable of designing basic surfaces in CAD and/or CAID Benefits • Eligibility for Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) medical plan • Dental/vision/term life package • Discount prescription program • Critical illness and accident coverage • Tele-behavioral health services • 401(k) plan • Sick leave for candidates in states or cities with sick leave laws • Minimum Value (MV) PPO medical plan • Employee Stock Purchase Plan • Paid holiday eligibility based on length and dates of service Apply tot his job
