The role involves representing clients in immigration courts and managing a caseload while collaborating with a network of qualified contract attorneys.ResponsibilitiesAppear in immigration courts (e.g., master calendar hearings, bond hearings, removal/EOIR proceedings) or accompany clients to USCIS interviewsRepresent clients in non-detention or detained matters (as needed) and/or participate in immigration-related hearingsMaintain full control of your schedule: you pick your appearances, when and where (within the city/region)Prepare and review case documents, coordinate with the central team, update status post-appearanceEnsure timely reporting of hearing outcomes back to the central teamSkillsJuris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar license in the State (e.g., California, Texas)Experience with immigration court proceedings or USCIS interviewsAble to manage your own schedule and communicate effectively with remote team/staffReliable travel within the metro area/courthouse visitsExcellent writing and advocacy skills1+ year of immigration-law experience (court/agency)Bilingual skills (Spanish a plus)Familiarity with EOIR proceedings, USCIS interviews and immigration law updatesBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) planCatered lunchesComplimentary parkingPaid time offCompany OverviewThe United Firm | La Liga Defensora, A.P.C.
