Continuing Astound's legacy of representing incredible artists and fostering strong relationships with top publishers around the globe, we are excited to launch an open call for freelance Picture book illustrators. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside an internationally recognised agency while continuing to work remotely from anywhere in the world.

We’re especially excited to hear from Picture Book Illustrators who have:
• A strong portfolio aimed at the publishing market
• Traditional-leaning stylistic elements with confident draftsmanship
• Strong characterisation and proportionate character design
• Rich storytelling and expressive world-building
• A unique personal approach that stands apart
• A sense of humour (a huge bonus!)
We’re especially looking for artists who create magical, character-rich worlds full of charm, detail, and personality. immersive, memorable work that feels unmistakably their own.
We’re drawn to styles that are timeless yet contemporary: thoughtful, character-led, emotionally rich, and strong in storytelling.
