The Role: ICT Engineer As an ICT Engineer, you will support the design and implementation of physical network infrastructure across Switch data center environments. This role exists to ensure telecom pathways, cabling systems, and supporting infrastructure are designed to meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards. You will work closely with senior engineers, external consultants, and internal teams to review designs, support project execution, and maintain alignment with Switch and industry standards. This role provides hands-on exposure to large-scale data center design and construction. This position may require the candidate/employee to undergo additional background checks and drug screenings prior to and during the course of employment in support of customer-specific deployments. What You�ll Do Support the design of telecom pathways, spaces, and structured cabling systems (fiber and copper) Assist in reviewing ICT infrastructure designs and specifications developed by consultants Review submittals for pathways, cabling, and ICT equipment Support development of scalable fiber optic and copper infrastructure solutions Assist in creating and maintaining design standards, templates, and Basis of Design documentation Participate in RFP development and coordination with external design consultants Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to specify equipment Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and Switch requirements Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams across projects Support site visits, design reviews, and project coordination activities Research new technologies and contribute to design improvements Travel up to 25% as required What We�re Looking For You are eager to learn and grow within a technical engineering environment You communicate clearly and ask questions when needed You stay organized and manage multiple tasks effectively You apply attention to detail in design review and documentation You take ownership of assigned work and follow through You collaborate well with internal teams and external partners What You�ll Bring Required: Bachelor�s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field Foundational understanding of ICT infrastructure or structured cabling systems Familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling systems Basic knowledge of data center or critical infrastructure environments Strong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred: Experience with ICT design or telecommunications infrastructure Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and ANSI/BICSI standards Experience with tools such as Bluebeam, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Office Exposure to AutoCAD or Revit Progress toward BICSI certifications such as RCDD, DCDC, RTPM, or OSP We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every preferred qualification.
