Hybrid role - Drafting/CAD Technician in Wilmington, NC & Concord, NC
The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Drafting/CAD Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Wilmington, NC & Concord, NC Details for the position are as follows:
Payrate: $33-35/hr W2
Hybrid: 3 days/week remote; 2 days/week onsite.
Job Description:
ā¢ Duration: 12 months - possible extension based on performance & business needs (no guarantee)..
ā¢ Shift: Mon-Fri; 8am-5pm base schedule; OT is often required.
Required Education: Candidates should possess one of the following, but other technical degrees with demonstrated skills in drafting will be considered:
ā¢ A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree OR A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree OR Drafting Certificate/Certification
ā¢ Candidates without degrees must demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting and at least 2 years of Drafting/CAD Technician and Mechanical Engineering experience.
Required Experience and Skills:
ā¢ Minimum of 2 years professional experience in the mechanical drafting field
ā¢ Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards, General Windows-based computer skills
ā¢ Proficient in the use of Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault software or Solidworks.
ā¢ Main focus day to day: Mechanical drafting 3D modeling, 2D drawings
Desired:
ā¢ Experience in the creation, revision, and storage of electronic drawing files (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD) for custom designed process equipment in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
ā¢ Correct redlined models/drawings issued by drafting lead or engineering/development teams.
ā¢ Convert legacy hand drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models and associative drawings.
ā¢ Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models from other users.
ā¢ Collect data from engineering teams and incorporate information into appropriate drawing.
ā¢ Collect measurements/information from production floor to incorporate into drawing
ā¢ Some travel within NC is required (approximately 10%) for Concord, NC role; (No travel for Wilmington, NC role)
