Human Resources / Payroll Specialist
Foley Mansfield is a national law firm with more than 110 attorneys in offices from coast to coast. They are seeking a service-oriented Human Resources / Payroll Specialist to join their Minneapolis-based team, responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with payroll laws, and assisting with new hire onboarding.ResponsibilitiesProcessing bi-weekly payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees using the ADP Workforce Now platformEnsuring compliance with company policies as well as federal and state payroll laws and regulationsEstablish new state and local taxes as neededWorking with managers to ensure employee work hours are submitted accuratelyRunning reports and providing supporting documentation as requested by firm leadership, HR team members, and for external auditsReconciling and paying benefit invoicesAssisting with new hire onboarding, including sending out pre-boarding communications, entering new hires into payroll system, and enrolling new hires in benefitsAssisting with administrative tasks associated with employee terminationsSkillsProcessing bi-weekly payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees using the ADP Workforce Now platformEnsuring compliance with company policies as well as federal and state payroll laws and regulationsEstablish new state and local taxes as neededWorking with managers to ensure employee work hours are submitted accuratelyRunning reports and providing supporting documentation as requested by firm leadership, HR team members, and for external auditsReconciling and paying benefit invoicesAssisting with new hire onboarding, including sending out pre-boarding communications, entering new hires into payroll system, and enrolling new hires in benefitsAssisting with administrative tasks associated with employee terminationsExcellent communication skillsHigh attention to detailStrong work ethicAbility to deal sensitively with confidential informationProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skillsSome prior work experience in HR and payroll preferred but not requiredAn educational degree or certificate in HR or a related field is a plusBenefitsMedical, dental, and visionGenerous paid time off and paid holidaysFree mental health and therapy benefit (Modern Health app)Employer-paid life and disability coverage401k with employer contributionCompany OverviewAs a national defense law firm with more than 110 attorneys in offices from coast to coast, Foley Mansfield provides legal expertise, creative solutions and extensive trial experience across multiple jurisdictions.
