Human Resources Manager, Hotel Saint Vincent

Description:

We're looking for a Hotel Human Resources Manager who leads with empathy, accountability, and a people-first mindset. This role is essential to fostering a high-performing, engaged team and ensuring HR operations align with business objectives. With ~200 employees (full-time, part-time, and on-call), you'll oversee leadership development, training, HR compliance, and employee well-being. You'll work closely with the HR Coordinator to ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations, payroll accuracy, and employee support. As part of the Leadership Team, you'll drive initiatives that strengthen the team and enhance workplace culture. The Home Office HR Team is a mentor and resource, providing guidance and support as needed.

What You'll Do

1. Recruitment, Hiring, & Retention
? Build hiring strategies to attract and retain top hospitality talent.
? Oversee structured onboarding to ensure new hires feel welcomed and prepared.
? Implement retention initiatives focused on employee growth and well-being.

2. Develop Leaders & Strengthen Culture
? Coach and mentor department heads to enhance leadership skills and team management.
? Establish clear career paths and a structured leadership development framework.
? Lead employee recognition programs to boost engagement and retention.

3. Performance Management & Succession Planning
? Implement structured performance reviews with clear expectations and feedback.
? Guide managers in coaching employees and handling performance discussions.
? Develop succession plans to grow internal talent into future leadership roles

4. Training & Development
? Design and execute training programs on hospitality, leadership, and service excellence.
? Conduct workshops on guest experience, team collaboration, and conflict resolution.
? Continuously refine training programs based on feedback and performance data.

5. HR Operations & Compliance
? Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
? Oversee payroll accuracy, benefits administration, and HRIS management.
? Lead safety training, workers' compensation processes, and workplace risk management.
? Maintain and update the employee handbook.

6. Employee Offboarding & HR Analytics
? Conduct exit interviews and track trends to improve retention strategies.
? Analyze and report key HR metrics, including turnover, employee satisfaction, and labor cost efficiency.

Requirements:

What You Bring
? 5+ years of HR experience, including 3+ years in hospitality (hotels, restaurants, or similar).
? Strong leadership coaching and training development experience.
? Expertise in employment laws, wage compliance, and HR best practices.
? Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
? Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure hospitality environment.
? Preferred:
? Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Hospitality, or related field.
? SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification.
? Experience in boutique or independent hospitality brands.
