Human Resources Generalist

Position Overview:Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the successful candidate will implement human resources programs; solving performance problems, pay and bonus issues. Onboard new employees. Assists in providing human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending appropriate courses of action. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Responsibilities:Coordinates the in-processing of new employees; both domestic and international.Creates personnel files for all new employees.Enters new employees and makes changes to existing employees in HRIS system.Interface with hiring managersEnsure new hire paperwork is complete for employees.Conducting new hire orientation programs.Maintain HRIS and generate reports as necessaryMaintain HR Files and documentsLiaise with insurance carriers and providers of serviceKnowledge of COBRA and FMLA programsAnswer employee benefits and general HR questions.Assist in processing workers compensation and DBA claimsAbility to appropriately handle confidential information.Must possess superior Microsoft Office Suite skillsSpecial reporting and other projects, as required Required QualificationsProven experience as HR SpecialistUnderstanding of general human resources policies and proceduresGood knowledge of employment/labor lawsOutstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. PeopleSoft) will be a plusExcellent communication and people skillsAptitude in problem-solvingDesire to work as a team with a results-driven approachBSc/BA in Business administration or relevant fieldPHR/SPHR Certified preferredAbility to handle sensitive situations professionally, with discretion and confidentialityAbility to work in a diverse environment and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization. Physical Demands: The physical demands listed below, though not fully inclusive, are that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The employee is frequently required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
