Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist (Entry-Level) supports core human resources operations across a multi-state, multi-location organization, providing hands-on support in HR systems, payroll coordination, recruiting administration, and employee service.ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within HRIS, payroll, and benefits systemsAssist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, system access, and compliance trackingSupport HR audits, reporting, and electronic file managementMaintain strict confidentiality of employee and company informationAssist with payroll preparation, time entry review, and data verificationRespond to employee payroll and timekeeping questionsCoordinate with payroll providers and internal teams to resolve discrepanciesAssist with job postings, applicant tracking, and candidate communicationsSchedule interviews and coordinate with hiring managersSupport background checks, pre-employment screenings, and new hire documentationServe as a first-line HR contact for employee questions related to policies, systems, and processesProvide timely, accurate, and professional responsesEscalate sensitive or complex matters appropriatelySupport HR projects, policy updates, and process improvementsCoordinate with Operations, Finance, Safety, and other internal teams as neededAssist during peak HR cycles such as onboarding surges, audits, and open enrollmentSkills1–3 years of experience in human resources, payroll support, recruiting coordination, or administrative operationsHands-on experience with HR systems (HRIS, payroll platforms, ATS, or timekeeping systems)Strong customer service and professional communication skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience supporting multi-state or multi-location organizationsExposure to ADP, Paychex, Employee Navigator, or similar systemsExperience in environmental consulting, professional services, or regulated industriesInterest in long-term growth within Human ResourcesCompany OverviewEarth Systems' in-house, turn-key remediation division, ES Response and Restoration, is proud to offer a wide range of services designed to address our clients' most complex environmental challenges.
