Role Description
This role involves performing a variety of HR generalist functions in support of the field HR Director. You will provide expertise and solutions in the areas of employee relations, recruiting, training, employment practice, performance management, compensation, and legal compliance.
Proactively work with employees and managers to address workplace issues/concerns
Review and make recommendations on performance issues, FMLA, and worker’s comp
Partner with department managers by providing guidance and support that will enable and foster achievement of department goals
Promote employee engagement survey, provide guidance to management reviewing results and developing and implementing action plans to drive improvement in opportunity areas
Promote involvement and activities in support of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
Work with HR Director on leadership and succession planning initiatives as well as other training and development initiatives
Deliver HR related content to managers and employees, such as performance management, career development, new HR programs, etc.
Support Corporate HR in facilitating the annual performance and compensation process
Provide guidance to managers, in conjunction with corporate compensation in making recommendations for merit and bonus
Support field Recruiters and HR Managers by providing tools and resources to increase the applicant pool
Other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Human Resources Management or related field preferred
PHR certification or SHRM-CP completion preferred
2-4 years broad HR representative/generalist experience in all facets of HR with a strong background in employee relations and employment practices
Proficient in workplace investigations and able to work in a confidential and discrete manner
Strong written/verbal communication skills, ability to present to all levels within the organization
Technical HR knowledge – EEO/AA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, ADA, federal/local laws; plus strong working knowledge of positive employee relations as well as disciplinary processes
Excellent assessment and interviewing skills
Strong interpersonal/influencing skills
Ability to both collaborate and lead on projects
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS/payroll systems (Workday preferred)
50% to 60% travel to include air, over and multi-night stay
Can be based anywhere in the United States near a major airport
