Job Summary
The HR Generalist / Payroll Coordinator will support a fast-paced data center and telecommunications organization with employees across multiple states. This role is responsible for administering core HR functions and managing end-to-end payroll operations while ensuring strict compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
The ideal candidate brings strong multi-state HR experience, hands-on payroll processing expertise, a solid compliance background, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. This position requires bilingual fluency (English/Spanish required) to effectively support a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
β’ Administer and support day-to-day HR functions, including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and performance management
β’ Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states
β’ Maintain, update, and enforce company HR policies and procedures
β’ Serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices
β’ Handle employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
β’ Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational needs, and employee engagement initiatives
β’ Support audits, documentation, and reporting related to HR compliance
β’ Assist with benefits administration, leaves of absence, and workersβ compensation coordination
β’ Collaborate with legal counsel or external partners on compliance or employment-related matters
β’ Support HR initiatives specific to field-based, project-based, and technical workforces in the data center and telecommunications environment
Payroll Coordination
β’ Manage and process accurate, timely multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees
β’ Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
β’ Coordinate payroll inputs including timekeeping, new hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, and deductions
β’ Reconcile payroll reports, address discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related employee inquiries
β’ Partner with finance, accounting, and external payroll vendors as needed
β’ Support payroll audits, tax filings, garnishments, and year-end reporting (W-2s, etc.)
β’ Maintain payroll records with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy
Required Qualifications
β’ Minimum of 3β5 years of HR Generalist experience with payroll processing responsibilities
β’ Proven experience supporting employees across multiple states
β’ Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and payroll regulations
β’ Bilingual fluency required (English/Spanish)
β’ Experience in data center, telecommunications, construction, or similar technical industries
β’ Ability to work remotely while supporting a geographically dispersed workforce
β’ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
β’ High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
β’ Must be based in Texas
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Legal or compliance-focused HR experience
β’ SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (strongly preferred)
β’ Experience supporting hourly, field-based, or project-driven workforces
β’ Experience with multi-state payroll systems and timekeeping platforms
