HR Generalist (Hybrid)

They are seeking an HR Generalist to support employees and leaders with day-to-day HR needs while contributing to a positive employee experience and ensuring smooth HR processes. Responsibilities Provide responsive, high-quality frontline support to employees and managers on HR policies, benefits, leaves of absence, and general employee inquiries Partner closely with the Sr. HRBP to support department priorities and implement HR strategies aligned to business needs Serve as a liaison between employees and HR Centers of Excellence to ensure timely resolution and a seamless employee experience Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure smooth transitions and a positive first and last impression Support employee relations matters by providing policy guidance, documentation support, and performance coaching resources Maintain accurate org charts, rosters, and employee data; process associate changes efficiently and with attention to detail Track and analyze HR data including staffing, turnover, retention, and exit interview insights to support talent discussions Assist with the planning and execution of HR initiatives such as performance management and succession planning Support time-sensitive projects and ad hoc HR initiatives as business needs evolve Skills Bachelor's degree 1–4 years of relevant experience, with professional HR experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of fundamental HR practices, including California employment law, employee relations, performance management, and compensation Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build trust and relationships at all levels Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Proficiency in Microsoft Office; comfort working with data and spreadsheets Ability to work onsite at our Carson, CA campus three days per week HR certification such as SHRM, aPHR, or PHR Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and an interest in data analysis Benefits Bonus eligible Paid leave for new parents to support work/life balance and family bonding Excellent medical/dental and vision coverage—EPO, PPO and HSA 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution (because you will retire someday) Flexible benefits—choose what you like, ignore the rest On-site preschool for our employees’ children On-site employee gym for all levels/fitness needs Generous employee discount Casual dress…and we really mean it Company Overview Lakeshore Learning Materials is one of the most innovative manufacturers of educational materials in the country.
