HR Coordinator
Lehman College, part of The City University of New York, is seeking an HR Coordinator to assist with day-to-day HR operations. The role involves onboarding part-time employees, maintaining HR records, and providing support to hiring managers while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Responsibilities Processes the onboarding of part-time employees, new-hire orientations, and audits for accuracy and I-9 compliance, and ensures all records are up-to-date Provides information to hiring managers regarding processes and procedures Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to HR Administrative and paperwork oversight for both electronic and paper files Assist with the daily data input of position management related to hires, reappointments, revisions, and separations for hourly teaching and non-teaching instructional staff Processes employment verifications and public service loan forgiveness Maintains the budget in the Human Resources department and keeps up to date on current issues and matters related to HR Troubleshoot any CUNYfirst issues and make corrections as necessary Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions Other duties as assigned Skills Bachelor's degree required Proficient with Microsoft Office Excellent judgment, strong communication, and people skills Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion with regard to all matters, data, and documents Detailed oriented, self-directed, motivated and proactive Strong problem solving and critical thinking aptitude Familiar with CUNY's collective bargaining agreements for white-collar titles and psc staff is preferred Benefits CUNY’s benefits contribute significantly to total compensation, supporting health and wellness, financial well-being, and professional development.
