The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) is seeking a motivated and organized HR Assistant to join our human resources team. In this supportive role, you will assist with various HR functions, including recruitment, employee onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining employee records. Responsibilities
• Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
• Facilitate employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring new hires have the resources and information they need to succeed.
• Maintain and update employee records and HR databases to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support benefits administration by assisting employees with inquiries and processing related documentation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Provide administrative support to the HR team, including preparing reports and managing correspondence.
• Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and training programs.
• Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in human resources or administrative support roles.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices, with an emphasis on recruitment and employee relations.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Positive attitude and a strong customer service orientation.
