Position Overview Job Title: Homebound Teacher - Remote Instruction for Students in Need Location: Remote (with occasional in-person sessions) Start Date: Immediate openings available Compensation: Competitive salary rate of $27.00 per hour Duration: Temporary position depending on student need Key Responsibilities As a Homebound Teacher, your primary responsibilities will include: Providing direct instruction to students in a home-based setting, either in-person or virtually, for two 45-minute non-consecutive sessions per week Preparing lesson plans and educational materials tailored to the student's needs and grade level Maintaining accurate records of services provided, including a weekly log of instruction and activities Collaborating with colleagues and other educators to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience Utilizing technology, such as Zoom or Skype, to facilitate virtual instruction and communication Adapting instruction to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this opportunity, you must: Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate Meet the highly qualified status for ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) Have a strong understanding of Common Core State Standards for the relevant grade level (elementary, middle school, or high school) Be a self-directed thinker and problem solver with excellent communication skills Be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technology Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances Work Environment and Culture As a Homebound Teacher, you will work in a variety of settings, including: In-person sessions in the student's home or a designated location Virtual instruction via Zoom or Skype Our work environment is characterized by: Limited exposure to physical risk Flexible scheduling to accommodate student needs Opportunities for professional growth and development A supportive and collaborative team culture Career Growth and Learning Benefits At Goodrich Area Schools, we're committed to supporting the ongoing growth and development of our educators.
