Role Description

The Senior Business Process Improvement Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional process improvement initiatives across the enterprise. This role partners closely with business, clinical, technology, and operations leaders to identify performance gaps, redesign end-to-end processes, and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, compliance, and customer experience. The ideal candidate brings deep experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and Project Management principles within a healthcare payor environment, with a strong ability to influence without authority and translate strategy into executable improvements.
β€’ Lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional process improvement initiatives from problem definition through implementation and sustainment.
β€’ Prioritize and lead process improvement activities across the enterprise in support of all departments and functional areas.
β€’ Facilitate workshops and working sessions including process mapping, root cause analysis, future-state design, and prioritization exercises.
β€’ Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to improve operational performance, reduce variation, and eliminate waste.
β€’ Partner with senior leaders to identify high-impact improvement opportunities aligned to strategic objectives.
β€’ Translate complex operational challenges into structured improvement roadmaps with clear milestones and success metrics.
β€’ Leverage data and analytics to quantify problems, validate root causes, and track benefits realization.
β€’ Develop business cases and executive-level presentations to communicate insights, recommendations, and outcomes.
β€’ Coach and mentor business partners and junior team members on continuous improvement tools and ways of working.
β€’ Provide training and guidance to project teams and functional areas to assist with the implementation and maintenance of process improvement activities.
β€’ Collaborate with Technology, Product, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and sustainable.
β€’ Support the development of standard work, governance models, and performance management routines to embed improvements.
β€’ Evaluate completed process improvement projects to identify and implement best practices and lessons learned.

Qualifications
β€’ Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
β€’ MBA or MHA preferred.
β€’ 6+ years of LEAN, Six Sigma or related process improvement experience, preferably in the healthcare industry.
β€’ Previous working knowledge of process mapping and design, statistical applications and project management software.

Preferred Experience
β€’ Demonstrated success driving improvements in healthcare payor operations (e.g., enrollment, claims, provider operations, member experience, compliance, or regulatory workflows).
β€’ Strong facilitation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
β€’ Proficiency in process mapping, workflow design, and improvement tools (e.g., value stream mapping, root cause analysis, FMEA).
β€’ Experience working with data to inform decisions, measure outcomes, and track performance.
β€’ Familiarity with project management principles and tools in complex, matrixed organizations.

Licenses/Certifications
β€’ LEAN/Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification preferred.

Pay Range

$87,700.00 - $157,800.00 per year
