We are seeking a Part-Time Fraud Data Analyst to support our program with the US Small Business Administration (SBA). This work will be performed remotely and our estimate is around 20 hours per week of required support. In order to join an SBA program, all candidates must be able successfully complete the SBA employment background check which requires US Citizenship to be eligible. In this role you will:
o Provide expert advice on fraud analytics and advanced analytics.
o Assist with the application of advanced analytics to solve problems, assess risk, and predict future behavior using programs such as R, SAS, or Python. Familiarity with data extraction tools such as SQL and visualization tools such as Microsoft BI.
o Assist with the development of reports, analyses, models, and dashboards to include validation, testing and documentation.
o Provide independent validation and verification of SBA analyses, models, and dashboards.
o Assist with data quality reviews and documentation.
o Assist with review of the data analytic monitoring techniques based on existing federal data sets, focus on providing real time detection of high-risk transaction processing, and provide exception reporting of program quality performance and compliance criteria.
o Identify and document data required from SBA and other data sets to meet quality assurance, compliance, and reporting objectives.
o Review effectiveness of the execution and monitoring of electronic review protocols to include preventive and detective data analytics and exception reporting.
o Experience in presenting results of complex data analysis to a wider non-data centric audience in a clear and understandable way.
o Ability to comprehend and apply data governance guidance from outside agencies such as GAO or OIG.
o Provide guidance and/or mentoring to a Data Scientist level role.
o Must be able to translate complex analysis results into a simplified, concise narrative to support decision making.
o Work and be a liaison with multiple departments to accomplish tasks independently.
o Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience
 US Citizenship required (SBA background check eligibility requirement)
 Bachelor's degree or higher degree from an accredited institution in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position
 8+ years of relevant work experience and at least one year of experience providing guidance to lower-level analysts and/or presenting analysis to high level executives.
As this role is part-time, this role will not be eligible for Significance's enterprise benefits program.
At Significance, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location.
We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to experience; job-related skill sets; relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
