Job Title: High School Math Teacher β General Education

A public high school in the New Orleans, Louisiana area is seeking a passionate and dedicated General Education Math Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment, delivering high-quality math instruction, and supporting the academic growth of all students. This role will involve teaching Algebra, Geometry, and/or other high school-level math courses as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in high school math subjects.
β’ Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Louisiana State Standards.
β’ Assess and monitor student performance regularly to ensure academic progress.
β’ Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
β’ Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
β’ Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and behavior documentation.
β’ Collaborate with fellow teachers, school leadership, and support staff to enhance the educational experience.
β’ Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
β’ Participate in professional development sessions, faculty meetings, and school events.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (required).
β’ Valid Louisiana teaching certification in secondary mathematics or eligibility to obtain certification (required).
β’ Experience teaching in a high school setting preferred but not required.
β’ Strong knowledge of math content and effective instructional strategies.
β’ Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
