Role Description
We have an immediate opening for a
Financial Educator Remote
to join our team at
Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York
in
Brooklyn, New York
.
Schedule:
ā¢ Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays
Compensation:
ā¢ $23 to $26 per hour (commensurate with experience)
This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.
In this role, the
Financial Educator
will:
ā¢ Consult with patients regarding their benefits, coverage and financial options
ā¢ Perform aspects of benefit verification and prior authorization
ā¢ Provide ongoing financial education and assistance to our patients throughout the continuum of their care, as an educator, advocate, and liaison
ā¢ Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal financial and insurance information
Qualifications
ā¢ Minimum 2 to 4 years of medical business office experience, with working knowledge of healthcare billing and collections, insurance/benefits, and patient interaction
ā¢ Must have experience reading and understanding payer remittance advice
ā¢ Bachelor's Degree preferred
ā¢ Experience working in an OB/GYN office is a plus
ā¢ Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, managers, patients, and insurance companies
ā¢ Strong oral and written communication skills, independent worker, detailed-oriented, computer savvy
ā¢ Proficient with Microsoft programs, specifically Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
ā¢ High level of customer service essential

ā¢ Ability to differentiate between allowed charges, contractual adjustments, line item denials/reasons, patient responsibility (co-pay, co-insurance, and deductibles)
