WTW is a company that specializes in health and welfare benefit programs, and they are seeking a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Analyst to support various projects involving financial analysis and client deliverables. The role involves working closely with client teams and developing proficiency in financial and actuarial theories while contributing to the overall success of employer health benefit programs.ResponsibilitiesWith clear guidance and direction, play an active support role in multiple client teams developing financial analyses, outputs and client deliverables across a regional teamDevelop working proficiency of core financial, actuarial and analytics theories, models and toolsSupport accurate and reliable claim reporting and financial modeling to guide client decisionsDevelop basic knowledge of all broad-based benefit programs (e.g., health care, pharmacy, wellbeing, life, disability, voluntary benefits, etc.)Assist with financial modeling of benefit plan designs, cost avoidance/funding strategies, and budget projections and rate/contribution development with clear guidance and directionTake responsibility for execution of specific tasks that contribute to financial/actuarial deliverables for clients, with guidance and adherence to stated deadlinesPartner with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams to deliver superior project managementBuild strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teamsSkills1+ year work experience in professional services, ideally gained in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or health underwriting / actuarial function of an insurance companyBasic knowledge of some health and welfare products & servicesStrong data management, math and/or analytics capabilitiesAbility to identify inconsistencies in dataProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong client service orientation (internal and external)Ability to identify and resolve issuesStrong written and verbal communication skillsSelf-starter attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPointState Life and Health license required within 90 days of joiningRelevant financial experience and/or university degreeProgress towards completion of health actuarial designation or CEBS designation(optional)BenefitsHealth and Welfare Benefits: Medical (including prescription coverage), Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Commuter Account, Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Group Accident, Group Critical Illness, Life Insurance, AD&D, Group Legal, Identify Theft Protection, Wellbeing Program and Work/Life Resources (including Employee Assistance Program)Leave Benefits: Paid Holidays, Annual Paid Time Off (includes state/local paid leave where required), Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Other Leaves (e.g., Bereavement, FMLA, ADA, Jury Duty, Military Leave, and Parental and Adoption Leave), Paid Time Off (only included for Washington roles)Retirement Benefits: Qualified contributory pension plan (if eligible) and 401(k) plan with annual nonelective company contribution.
