Overall Purpose:
This position will report to the VP of Health Plan Finance and will be responsible for gathering, analyzing data and design solutions that support business needs. The Business Analyst will analyze health care and finance information and develop utilization and performance reports to provide to the overall market, departments and individual physician groups. The position will provide analytical, planning and coordination support on projects as assigned and must have the ability to work in a highly visible, dynamic and fast paced environment.
Education and Experience:

Degree in Finance or related field (equivalent amount of education and experience is acceptable). Masters preferred.
Minimum of 7 years healthcare experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience in defining and analyzing business requirements, developing reports, modeling business processes, and developing presentations.
3 + years of experience with business intelligence and decision support tools and concepts.
A strong technology background, comfortable working across a range of applications and technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have Excel skills in the intermediate to advanced range (Pivot tables, V lookup, H lookup, conditional formatting etc).
Detail oriented, proficient computer skills with experience in Database, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other MS Office applications.
Proven experience with relational database systems required, with preference given to SQL Server.
Ability to quickly understand the business issues and data challenges within the healthcare industry and our business organization.
Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with business clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
Desire to work in a fast-moving team environment with a proven ability to take ownership over projects and complete them in a timely manner.
Must be able to work independently on multiple projects in coordination with other internal and external project team members.
Ability to present comprehensive analytic results orally and in writing to medical offices, plans, and providers incorporating descriptions of measures, relevant data, and other background material to provide context for the results.
Experience analyzing large datasets, particularly health-related data including claims data.

Essential Functions:

Collects and synthesize data from multiple sources to develop reports that reflect overall market and provider group performance.
Collect and organize information obtained from various sources to recognize trends in quality, medical cost utilization, membership and other data.
Develops performance improvement reporting, that translates to specific actions in those areas.
Responsible for tracking and developing weekly and monthly metrics to show trend reports, etc. to support performance metrics.
Complete ad hoc reports as required for development of trend report and metrics to support market programs.
Prepares high quality presentations to leadership, as well as external audiences.
Collaborates with teams regarding work-flow process improvement, document management, and abstraction education.
Provide analytical and administrative support for various projects as needed.
Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope.
Responsible for all actions/responsibilities as described in company-controlled documentation for this position.
Performs other work-related duties and responsibilities as directed, assigned or requested.
Manages customer expectations effectively.
Generates enthusiasm among team members.

Pay Range: $100,000-115,000 annually
