Health & Beauty Expert – Remote Contract (Tech Evaluation)
About the Role NeonLabs is seeking experienced Health & Beauty Experts to contribute to a technology-driven project focused on improving how consumer systems understand and recommend personal-care products. You’ll evaluate and curate skincare, makeup, haircare, and fragrance items — explaining clearly and objectively why each product is a good buy across price tiers and shopper needs. This flexible contract role is ideal for beauty professionals, editors, or enthusiasts who combine strong product knowledge with fair, inclusive judgment. Role Responsibilities (training support provided) • Evaluate beauty products based on ingredients, formulation quality, shade and undertone fit, and hair type suitability. • Write concise, objective recommendations that include pros/cons and “best for” guidance. • Compare options across price tiers and retailers; highlight value picks and premium standouts. • Assess inclusivity for tones, textures, and sensitivities while noting safety considerations (no medical claims). • Review and refine system-suggested product picks to improve accuracy and context. • Produce structured comparisons and brief buyer guides for real-world use cases. Ideal Qualifications • Hands-on background in beauty retail (Sephora, Ulta, etc.), salon/MUA/esthetician work, or editorial experience. • Strong ability to evaluate products objectively and communicate clearly. • Comfort cross-shopping across retailers and price tiers. • Inclusive mindset and sound judgment regarding claims and safety. Preferred: State license (esthetician / cosmetologist), fragrance taxonomy knowledge, or expertise with textured-hair care.
