Our solutions accelerate the transition to clean energy and save money for energy customersWe are seeking a Group Product Manager (GPM), Data Platform to own Uplight’s Data Platform and drive its evolution as a foundational and customer-enabling capability across the product portfolio. This role reports directly to the VP of Product and is designed for a senior product leader who combines strong technical depth with people leadership and thrives at translating platform strategy into high-impact, shipped outcomes.In this role, you will be accountable for the vision, roadmap, and execution of the Data Platform, partnering closely with Engineering, Data Science, and Product peers to ensure the platform reliably enables Uplight’s applications, analytics, and machine learning capabilities, while increasingly delivering direct, customer-facing value.How you will make an impact:Own the Data Platform end-to-end, with accountability for strategy execution, roadmap delivery, and outcomesReport to the VP of Product and operate as the senior product owner for platform capabilitiesLead a team of product managersBalance strategic ownership with hands-on delivery leadershipPartner closely with cross-functional leaders while maintaining clear product accountabilityWhat you get to do:Data Platform Ownership and ExecutionOwn and drive the vision, roadmap, and execution of Uplight’s Data Platform, including ingestion pipelines, governance, observability, analytics enablement, and developer toolingTranslate platform strategy into clear roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes aligned with company and product prioritiesEnsure the platform delivers trusted, high-quality, well-governed data that scales across products, customers, and regionsBalance foundational platform investments with incremental delivery that supports near-term product and customer needsCustomer and Product EnablementPartner with application product teams to ensure the Data Platform effectively enables customer-facing analytics, APIs, BI, and data-driven featuresEvolve the platform as a developer platform, improving time-to-value through APIs, tooling, and reusable capabilitiesIdentify, validate, and help launch data-driven product opportunities, contributing to experimentation, pilots, and early releasesCross-Functional LeadershipWork closely with Engineering and Data Science leaders to align on technical direction, sequencing, and delivery tradeoffsCollaborate with Go-to-Market, Customer Success, and Solutions teams to ensure platform investments translate into measurable customer impactDefine, track, and communicate KPIs related to adoption, reliability, data quality, and downstream business outcomesAct as the primary product counterpart for platform-related initiatives across the organizationPeople LeadershipLead, coach, and develop a team of product managersSet clear expectations, delivery rhythms, and strong product management practicesContribute to hiring, onboarding, and talent development within the Product organizationFoster a collaborative, high-trust environment that supports sustainable execution and continuous improvementTechnical and Platform Expertise:Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including lakehouse concepts, ingestion pipelines, governance, observability, analytics, and machine learning enablementComfort engaging deeply with engineering teams on architectural decisions, technical tradeoffs, and delivery sequencingProduct and Business OrientationExperience translating platform capabilities into tangible customer value through analytics, APIs, embedded insights, or enablement of downstream productsAbility to prioritize work that balances long-term platform health with near-term business impactCollaborative LeadershipProven ability to influence across product, engineering, and business stakeholders through clarity, alignment, and executionSystems thinker who understands how data ingestion, governance, analytics, and applications connect to customer and business outcomesPeople Leadership ReadinessExperience leading senior product managers or acting as a player-coach on complex initiativesDemonstrated ability to grow talent while maintaining a strong focus on delivery and outcomesWhat you bring to Uplight:7 to 10 years of Product Management experienceHands-on technical background or extensive experience partnering closely with engineering and data teamsProven experience with data platforms, ingestion systems, analytics and BI, governance, machine learning enablement, and developer tooling; experience with Databricks or similar platforms is a plusTrack record of delivering complex platform initiatives that support multiple products, teams, or customersStrong communication skills and comfort operating in fast-moving, evolving environmentsExperience in energy, SaaS, data, or adjacent technology domains is preferredWhy Join Uplight in Leading the Fight Against Climate Change? The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
