For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .​POSITION SPECIFICS​Penn State Extension Better Kid Care is seeking a full-time Graphic Design Specialist. The successful candidate will work in tandem with other Better Kid Care designers and a team of content specialists to create resources for our online professional development courses. Work may include the creation of handouts, illustrations, presentation materials, video clips, custom animation, social media graphics, newsletters in Mailchimp, and H5P interactive content. Daily activities may also include marketing and outreach development.MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Associate Degree 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneRequired skills:In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with interactive document experience using InDesignGraphic design experience with typography, page design, and layout for web and print deliveryBasic HTML, CSS, and Plone (or other CMS) skillsKnowledge of YouTube, Kaltura, and social media platformsA working knowledge of implementing WCAG 2.2 requirements for publishing accessible PDFs and content onlinePrevious experience and a degree in a multimedia-related field requiredMust be able to organize and share ideas while working both independently and with a team on multiple projects simultaneouslyPreferred skills:A strong illustration ability and experience with H5PExperience with FileMaker Pro 23 and MailchimpBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa.
