Graphic Design Associate
About the role
The 33rd Team is seeking a part-time, remote Graphic Design Associate (Contractor) to support our growing media agency. This role will focus on graphic design, branding, and thumbnail creation across a variety of high-impact projects within the football and sports media space.
The Graphic Design Associate will be a key contributor to The 33rd Team’s media and content efforts, supporting visual branding and creative execution across multiple platforms. This is a part-time contractor role (20 hours/week) ideal for a designer with a strong eye for modern, high-impact visuals, particularly within sports and digital media.
The ideal candidate is a fast, detail-oriented designer who can create compelling graphics, maintain brand consistency, and develop engaging thumbnails that drive audience growth and engagement across podcast and social platforms.
Core Responsibilities
Graphic Design: Design high-quality graphics for social media, digital platforms, and marketing initiatives. Develop on-screen graphics and visual assets for digital content
Youtube Optimization: Create compelling YouTube thumbnails and podcast artwork optimized for engagement
Branding: Support branding initiatives, including layout systems, visual identity elements, and templates. Ensure all designs align with The 33rd Team’s brand and visual standards
Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to execute creative quickly and efficiently
Qualifications
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in graphic design or digital media (freelance or in-house)
Proven Design Skills: Strong portfolio showcasing modern, clean, and engaging design work. Strong understanding of layout, typography, and color.
Software Expertise: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator required)
Platform Knowledge: Experience creating YouTube thumbnails and social-first graphics
Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively in a part-time, fast-paced environment
Nice to have
Sports Background: Experience in sports media or football-related content
YouTube & Social Expertise: Familiarity with YouTube and social media optimization (thumbnails, CTR, etc.)
