Graphic Design Assistant - Temporary

The Graphic Design Assistant Temp will gain valuable experience working with Ascension’s best-in-class designers to create books and merchandise that will one day be in the hands of people across the nation. This role will support the fast-paced Ascension Books and Merchandise team by designing and creating products, organizing files appropriately, and creating marketing materials for our team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and a problem-solver who possesses knowledge of the Catholic faith, has graphic design experience, manages their time well, learns quickly, and can offer 10-29 hours per week. This job is a temporary position with the potential for hiring. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Create marketing images for book and merchandise promotion. • Collaborate with the design team to create fresh, relevant book covers from the conception stage to completion. • Typeset and layout full book interiors. • Work with editorial team to complete proofreading changes on products. • Package final files for production/print and upload to the necessary channels. • Create designs for merchandise products, as needed. • Assist with other design tasks, as needed. REQUIREMENTS • Available for work from October 2025 - May 2026. • Has a degree in graphic design or similar field. • Demonstrate experience with graphic design, particularly print design. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. • Keen attention to detail. • Familiarity with the Catholic faith and Ascension’s content. • Learns quickly. • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote, and collaborative environment. • Has at least 1-3 years of graphic design experience.
