Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grant Writer specializing in Kentucky state, federal, and local grants to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will lead efforts to secure funding by crafting compelling grant proposals, managing grant-related documentation, and ensuring compliance with all funding requirements. Your expertise will directly support our mission-driven programs by identifying funding opportunities, developing strategic proposals, and fostering relationships with funding agencies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through effective resource development and program growth.

Duties
• Demonstrated success writing Kentucky state grants
• Experience with federal grants (OJJDP, DOJ, SAMHSA, etc.)
• Strong understanding of youth services, diversion, prevention, or justice‑related programming
• Excellent writing, organization, and deadline management
• Ability to work independently with adquate turnaround times
• Develop, write, and edit competitive grant proposals
• Prepare budgets, narratives, and required attachments
• Ensure compliance with Kentucky state agency guidelines (e.g., DJJ, CHFS, Justice & Public Safety Cabinet)
• Align proposals with BTG program models and evidence‑based practices
• Support reporting, revisions, and submission requirements

Skills
• Proven experience in grant proposal writing, including crafting persuasive narratives and technical writing
• Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities across various agencies and programs
• Excellent editing, proofreading, and writing skills to produce clear, concise, and compelling documents
• Ability to develop budgets aligned with program objectives and funding guidelines
