Grant Writer for Faith-Based Nonprofit Ministry

The Opportunity We are looking for a grant writer who has a proven track record of securing foundation funding specifically for faith-based and Christian nonprofit organizations. This is not a research-only role. We need someone who can assess grant fit, write compelling proposals, and guide the ministry through the full application process. What We Are Looking For Demonstrated experience writing and winning foundation grants for faith-based nonprofits, churches, or Christian ministries Recent, verifiable grant awards secured within the past 12 to 24 months for organizations similar to ours Familiarity with the foundation funding landscape, including which funders are open to faith-based causes and which are not a strong fit Ability to differentiate proposals in a competitive environment where AI-generated submissions are raising the bar for quality Understanding that many funders tend to award funding to the same organizations year after year, and experience crafting proposals that stand out against that pattern Access to grant research tools and databases (such as FoundationSearch, Instrumentl, GrantStation, or similar platforms) Strong alignment with Christian values and comfort working with ministries whose mission is rooted in Scripture and prayer What You Will Do Evaluate whether foundation grants are a strong strategic fit for this ministry's mission and revenue model Identify and recommend specific grant opportunities aligned with the organization's programs and goals Write and submit Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) and full grant proposals Advise on positioning, messaging, and compliance to maximize the likelihood of award Provide clear reporting on submissions, outcomes, and next steps To Apply, Please Include A brief summary of your experience with faith-based nonprofit grant writing Two to three examples of grants you have successfully secured in the past 24 months, including the organization type, funder, and approximate award amount A short explanation of your approach to identifying the right grant opportunities for a ministry-focused organization We are looking for someone who brings both the skill and the heart to serve a ministry that is doing meaningful Kingdom work.
