Graduate Rotational Analyst - Risk and M&A

They are seeking a Graduate Rotational Analyst for their Graduate Rotation Program, which involves two one-year rotations in different departments, aimed at developing future leaders through hands-on experience in risk management and M&A. The role includes various analytical responsibilities and collaboration across teams to support the company's operations and strategic initiatives.ResponsibilitiesProduction of Daily/Monthly P&L/Position reportsProvide insight into positions and risk of the portfolioValidate end of day results in the risk systemsLeverage problem solving and analytical skills to enhance and automate numerous risk processesCollaborate effectively within the Risk Management team and other departments on issues/projectsSupport reporting requests from NRG’s internal and external auditorsWork closely with IT on risk system improvementsAd hoc requests for trading/managementProvide analytical support on a variety of M&A transactions, strategy projects and venture capital investmentsDevelop, maintain and/or review complex financial models (including valuation and sensitivity analyses) to support decision making for investments and M&A activitiesEnsure that all assumptions and modeling techniques are appropriate and reasonable and confirm that model accurately reflects the terms and conditions contained in key project documentationWork closely with business units, tax, accounting, various technical teams and advisors to prepare detailed forecast of profit and loss, cash flows and balance sheet for acquisition or investment targetsMonitor competitive landscape, be able to assess implications for NRG and communicate salient points to the team and management as neededAssist in determination of key value drivers of NRG’s corporate valuationAssist in evaluation of a variety of financial structures necessary to support contemplated transactionsPrepare recommendations to be presented to senior managementCoordinate and manage due diligence for contemplated transactionsAssist in providing data for NRG earnings releases and other corporate functions, such as meetings of the Board of Directors and executive leadershipCreate and maintain reports summarizing the ongoing performance of venture capital portfolio and strategic investmentsAssist in providing regular updates of key corporate valuation metrics including performing financial analysis to determine present and future financial performanceComplete ad-hoc projects and create reports as neededSkillsDegree discipline: Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer ScienceMust have graduated no longer than 6 months from program startMust have a 3.3 or higher GPAMust have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis without sponsorshipBenefitsMedicalVisionDental401KFlexible spending accountsCompany OverviewNRG Energy is an integrated power generation and supply firm that offers offsite solar, wind power, and smart grid retail services.
