Job Description:
Graduate assistant (in person or remote) will work closely with and under the direction of the HSI-STEM Grant Program Director to support career services and workforce development for the College of Science and Engineering (COSE).
Major job functions will include researching careers in STEM fields, meeting with COSE department chairs regarding students’ career prospects, identifying internship and apprenticeship opportunities, creating a database of employers, and assisting the HSI-STEM Program Director and the COSE Dean with employer relations.
Required Qualifications:
• Hours must be worked during SBDC operating hours (8AM-12:00 PM & 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM M-F)
• Regular admission into an ASU graduate degree or certification program is required.
• All graduate students who are awarded assistantships must be enrolled in graduate coursework during the terms of their appointments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
• Canva design experience is a plus.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
• Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations and able to withhold confidential information.
• Able to handle multiple projects and work independently or in a group.
Salary:
$20.00
