Google Cloud Junior Engineer O&M Support
About the position Responsibilities • Support the design, development, and management of robust, secure, scalable, and highly available solutions on Google Cloud. • Collaborate with Engineers, Developers, DBAs, and System Administrators to design and improve cloud solutions. • Deploy and maintain infrastructure as code (IAC) and SRE principles using tools like Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager. • Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing in accordance with security policies and best practices. • Proactively monitor cloud infrastructure health, responding to incidents and resolving issues. • Support implementation and maintenance of backup and disaster recovery solutions. • Conduct system performance analysis and optimize for scalability and efficiency. • Automate operational tasks and processes to reduce human error and increase efficiency. • Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cloud infrastructure setup and maintenance. • Perform root cause analysis for service interruptions and create preventative measures. • Stay updated on new GCP services and features to enhance functionality or reduce costs. • Support management and maintenance monitoring solutions for performance and operational health visibility. • Implement industry cloud best practices for security, performance, cost, and resiliency in design and implementation. • Build GCP solutions using container orchestration and management services like EKS and ECR. • Provide Tier II and Tier III operational support while managing help desk tickets. • Set up, develop, configure, and maintain DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines. • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, BASH, SQL, NoSQL. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree. • Must be a U.S. Citizen. • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. • Experience in cloud environments with knowledge in Agile methodologies, CI/CD tools, containerization, and security automation. Nice-to-haves • Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence. • Knowledge of Cyber tools like Aviatrix, Orca, Splunk, and Qmulous. • Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
