As the selected candidate, you will provide technical support for projects across the United States (US), Canada, Chile, and other locations and help support business development. The position may report to any of our U.S. offices and is open to remote/hybrid work arrangements.In this position, you will provide geotechnical engineering on surface mining projects, including tailings facilities and open pits. Project work may also include mine reclamation engineering and other environmental projects such as sediment remediation, waterfront structures, or in situ solidification and stabilization depending on qualifications. Work will entail a mixture of feasibility studies, design, construction quality assurance, and business development. This is a great opportunity to join a team and offer mentorship to our diverse group of geotechnical engineers while working on large and complex projects across the US and around the world.Role accountabilities:Join our Mining Sector Team as a key participantProvide technical leadership to engineering teamsPerform geotechnical engineering reviews and provide key input on critical projectsApply engineering principles to develop effective solutionsMentor and develop mid-level and junior staffIdentify and pursue business growth opportunitiesAct as or become Engineer of Record on appropriate projectsPreferred technical proficiencies:Mine highwall investigations and slope stability analysisMine tailings dam siting, design and evaluations including material stack design and operation and maintenanceField and laboratory geotechnical testing methods, techniques, and results interpretationGeotechnical investigation, monitoring methods and techniquesConstruction monitoring, testing and documentationSoft-ground mechanics and stabilization techniquesStrong written and verbal communicationProficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPointQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or closely related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseMinimum 5 years of experienceStrong written and verbal communicationStrong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Limited travel is required (up to 10%)Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or closely related fieldOSHA HAZWOPER trainingMSHA trainingExperience with Autodesk Civil 3D,ArcGIS ProModelling expertise (e.g., GeoStudio, FLAC, PLAXIS)Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $88,580- $132,870.
