We are seeking a skilled Transcriptionist to join our team. As a Transcriptionist, you will play a crucial role in converting audio recordings into written documents. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong language and grammar skills, and the ability to work independently. If you have a passion for accuracy and enjoy working with language, we would love to hear from you. You will be required to pass a typing test for speed and accuracy, then a transcription test will be emailed to you. It is pass or fail. Please do not call or email until these things are complete. Responsibilities:
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into written documents
- Edit and proofread transcriptions for accuracy and clarity
- Translate audio recordings from one language to another, if applicable
- Follow specific guidelines and formatting requirements, such as the Chicago Manual Style
- Research unfamiliar terms or topics to ensure accurate transcription
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines
Requirements:
- Proficient in English language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy
- Strong listening skills and ability to understand various accents and dialects
- Experience with transcription software or tools is preferred
- Familiarity with the Chicago Manual Style is a plus
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
